INTRODUCTION

The Illinois Building Commission was created effective January 1, 1998. The Commission serves State agencies, the public and the building industry. The Commission is required to resolve conflicting policy between State agencies and/or related entities, as well as suggest long term administrative improvements in an effort to expedite the building code/requirement process.

FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

There were no material findings of noncompliance disclosed during our audit tests. We commend the Board for maintaining an effective system of internal control.

AUDITORS' OPINION

We conducted a compliance audit of the Illinois Building Commission as required by the Illinois State Auditing Act. We have not audited any financial statements of the Commission for the purpose of expressing an opinion because the agency does not, nor is it required to, prepare financial statements.
