Ash Street, Springfield, IL 62703 (217) 782-6046 or TTY (888) 261-2887 This Report Digest and Full Report are also available on the worldwide web at www.auditor.illinois.gov INTRODUCTION The Sex Offender Management Board (Board) was established by the Sex Offender Management Board Act (Act) on July 22, 1997, to standardize the evaluation, identification, counseling, and continued monitoring of sex offenders at each stage of the criminal or juvenile justice systems or mental health systems. The Act was revised effective January 1, 2013, and now requires the Board to assist in the education and training of parole and probation officers, law enforcement, treatment providers and others involved in the management of sex offenders. There were no material findings of noncompliance disclosed during our examination. ACCOUNTANT’S OPINION The accountants conducted a compliance examination of the Board for the two years ended June 30, 2016, as required by the Illinois State Auditing Act. The accountants stated the Board complied, in all material respects, with the requirements described in the report.
